Commuting, getting fit, supporting mental wellbeing, reducing impact on the planet, having fun with friends and family, watching races or even competing – cycling is my passion. My goal is to invest more of my time on cycling related projects, from active travel initiatives and promoting accessibility to organising events and races.
I haven’t used a car to commute for over 20 years. I use a folding bike and public transport. I’m a club cyclist, youth coach and occasional builder of bespoke wheels. I had the opportunity to organise my cycling clubs annual Town Centre Races in Guildford. Its one of the few cobbled town centre circuit races in the UK, now I’m hooked and want to do more.

Austin is not stuck in a set way of delivery – he listens to what clients communicate and shapes teams to deliver what they want. He’s always setting ambitious targets for sustainability on projects and pushing teams to go further.
A talented leader of partnerships, Austin created our work on regeneration, bringing public and private sector experts together to develop our plan. He led us from the contractors demise towards a construction partner to get Midland Met built. Able to bridge the gap between strategy and implementation.
